RANDOLPH COUNTY FAIR LIVESTOCK ENTRY RULES
- All livestock entries should be in place in accordance with the individual entry rules. There MUST NOT BE ANY ARRIVALS BEYOND THE DEADLINE. WEIGH-IN WILL BE DONE AT SPECIFIC TIMES ONLY, unless directed by the Livestock Supervisor.
- No entry fee will be charged for any animal or other exhibit in the Randolph County Fair & Livestock Show; however, there will be a charge for the pen or stall.
- The Chairman and committee members will be on hand to check in exhibits for all departments and will also collect the fee for stall(s) or pen(s).
- All livestock exhibits must be left in place until the designated check-out time. Owners who remove their animals or other exhibits before that time will forfeit all premium money paid by the Randolph County Fair Association and money from the Blue Ribbon Sale.
- The exhibitor must own livestock exhibited at least 30 days prior to the show.
- The Randolph County Fair Association (RCFA) will attempt to provide acceptable accommodations for all entries, providing they are pre-registered.
- Due care will be taken to prevent injury to livestock exhibited & all other exhibits. Security will be provided overnight; however, the RCFA will not be responsible for accidents, injury or loss of any exhibit.
- No animal will be awarded ribbons or points unless it is shown.
- The decision of the judges will be final and all prize money will be paid according to the placing by the judges.
- In case of no competition in any class, the judge may award on this basis.
- Ribbons will be awarded to first, second, third, fourth, & fifth place winners in the livestock department unless otherwise stated in the department. Champion & Reserve Champion ribbons will be awarded to the Champion & Reserve Champion male & female of each beef, swine & dairy.
- Exhibitors may earn premium points for no more than two entries per class.
- Premiums will be paid on a point basis. Total number of points awarded in all livestock departments will be divided into the total money allowed to these departments, to determine the value of each point. For example, if the value of a point is found to be $.50 and the number of points awarded to be 10, the prize money would be $5.00.
- ALL CHECKS WILL BE VOIDED 30 DAYS FROM DATE OF ISSUE.
- The owner must provide care & feeding of livestock, including poultry. Each exhibitor is expected to keep his or her stalls, pens & exhibits neat & with fresh bedding. All refuse & other unsightly material should be removed so the public may view exhibits.
- The RCFA has taken every precaution to make the Fair & Livestock Show a safe place for the public to attend. It will do everything possible to prevent accidents. The RCFA shall not be held liable for any personal injury or property damage.
- All livestock exhibitors are required to notify the RCFA Officials as to the number of livestock that they plan to exhibit so proper facilities may be provided for each animal exhibited. Pens and stalls will be issued upon receiving the form post marked by August 2nd.
- The RCFA reserves the right to reject any animal that would be a discredit to the show. All cattle exhibited MUST BE BROKE TO LEAD and must be exhibited in the show arena.
- Out-of-county exhibitors are welcome & encouraged to participate in the Open Division. However, the RCFA reserves the right to award premium points to junior out-of-county exhibitors on a year-to-year basis. Premium points & prize money will be awarded as judging allows.
- Only purebred, pureblooded (one purebred parent), or animals equal to Breed Association Herd Book quality are admitted (poultry & rabbits excluded).
- Any animal owners who want to keep their animals on the grounds beyond check-out time, and who will stay with the animals until they are removed on Sunday morning, may do so.
- Animals can only be shown in one class.
- All poultry must be bled before entering the fairgrounds. The test is the responsibility of the owner. Chickens will be tested for the Fair from 10 - 11a.m., August 13th at the Pocahontas High School Agri. Building.
- Sawdust will be provided for bedding. Please remember this to share, so let's make it go around.
- Exhibitors must provide a legible copy of required permits on each livestock exhibit to be kept on file by the Fair Association.
- Pens & stalls MUST BE CLEANED OUT PRIOR TO RECEIVING PREMIUM CHECKS.
- Blue Ribbon Winners must have been present throughout the show to maintain and care for their animals during the fair to participate in sale.
- ALL MARKET ANIMALS MUST HAVE BABY TEETH.
RODEO STOCK
All rodeo bulls twelve (12) months of age & older must have a tuberculosis test annually (12 months) before entry into AR for a rodeo. This requirement applies to all rodeo bulls regardless of their original state or area status, and even rodeo bulls from Ark. All bulls must be individually identified with some type of USDA official ID. Out of state rodeo bulls are required to have a thirty (30) day CVI and an entry permit.
All roping & dogging steers and heifers must have an animal tuberculosis test every (12 months) before entry into AR for a rodeo. This requirement applies to all steers and heifers regardless of the origin, state or area status, and even steers and heifers from AR. All steers and heifers must be individually identified with some type of USDA official ID. All tie-down and roping calves are exempt from this regulation. In addition, M branded (Mexican) steers and heifers must have two negative annual tests for TB or one negative yearly test plus (60) day negative TB test. Out of state steers and heifers are required to have a thirty (30) day CVI and an entry permit, plus annual tuberculosis test every (12months) before entry in AR for a rodeo. This requirement applies to all steers and heifers.
